Setting a Preferred Sign-in Method for Your Organization
This article explains how administrators can request to restrict access to the IEX Portal to a single, organization-approved sign-in method (e.g., Google, Outlook, etc.). This enhances security and ensures users adhere to company IT standards.
Why Restrict Sign-in Methods?
Enforcing a single sign-in method provides several key benefits:
- Enhanced Security: Prevents users from signing up with personal emails or creating separate, less-secure passwords. It ensures access is managed through your corporate identity provider.
- Simplified User Experience: Users don't need to remember a new password for the portal if they can use their existing corporate login.
- Centralized Control: Aligns portal access with your organization's IT and security policies for user authentication.
How It Works
Once a preferred sign-in method is configured for your account, it will be the only option available to your users on the login page.
Example: Your organization decides to exclusively use "Sign in with Outlook."
-
What Users See: In the login page they will have to select the "Sign in with Outlook" button.
-
Blocked Actions: The options to log in with Google or email and password will be disabled. Anyone trying to use a different method will be unable to log in.
How to Request This Change
To set a required sign-in method for your organization, please follow these steps:
-
Identify your preferred method: Choose the single sign-in provider you wish to enforce (e.g., Google, Outlook).
-
Contact your Brand Manager: Send a formal request to your Brand Manager specifying your chosen sign-in method.
-
Confirmation: Our team will make the necessary changes to your account and notify you once the restriction is active.
Tip: We recommend you inform your users of this change beforehand to ensure a smooth transition.
